How to Acquire a New Phone Number in Lytiks

1. Click the “Manage Accounts” icon on the top right of your screen, just to the right of the “Filters” menu.

2. Under “Call Tracking Tools,” choose “Order New Phone Numbers.”

There are two other paths that you could follow to acquire a new phone number. Those are found within the “Phone Calls” tab of the “Manage Actions/Engagement” pages. Simply click on the “Buy a New Number” link on the right-hand side. Using this link makes it easier to combine setting up the new call tracking Action or Engagement with acquiring and activating the new phone number.

3. From the drop-down menu, select a Web site or an advertisement to which to assign the new phone number. Note that when you install the Lytiks tracking code on a Web site, that site will be added automatically to the list of websites in this drop-down menu.

You can assign it to one of the already existing ones, or to create a new Web site or advertisement choose “Create New…” and assign your new phone number directly to it.

4. Choose whether to create a Web site or an advertisement and enter a name for it in the “Name” box to describe it accurately. Click “Continue.”

5. Here you can see all the phone numbers you already have. You can choose whether to show only the active ones or all of them. You can also see a list of phone numbers you can choose from for your new one. They include toll-free numbers, local numbers, and special order numbers. Simply click on the tab that corresponds to the type of a phone number you prefer. Click “More Numbers” at the bottom of the page to view more options.

If you do not like any of the available numbers, you can also backorder the number you would like by clicking on the “Custom Request” tab and filling out the necessary details.

6. Once you have selected the desired phone number, fill out the phone number to which calls from the new phone number will be forwarded. Then choose appropriate name and description for the phone number – these will appear in the Call Tracking list, so they should be suggestive and easily recognizable.
