1. An important action a visitor of your Web site might take is making a phone call. Lytiks makes it very easy to track inbound phone calls. To get started, click the Actions tab on the Lytiks navigation bar.
2. Here you will see a list of all of your current actions. Click “Manage Actions” at the top right of the page.
3. Choose the type of action to be “Phone Calls”. Then click the “Create New Phone Call Action” link.
4. Write in a description for the Phone Call Action, so that you can easily see which phone number is being tracked and what purpose this phone number serves. The description will appear on the “Phone Calls” page of the “Actions” page. A good example would be “Product Support Calls” or “Calls from PDF Brochure.”
You can also purchase a new phone number by clicking on the “Buy a New Number” on the left-hand side of the “Phone Calls” page of the “Manage Actions” page. You can make the new phone number forward to any other phone number you would like. In this way, you can track inbound phone calls from multiple sources while maintaining only one phone line.
5. From the drop-down menu, choose the location and phone number you want the phone call action to be applied to.
6. To track only phone calls that lasted more than 1 minute, i.e. were of significant duration, click the “Advanced Options” button and select “More than 1 Minute” from the “call lasted” drop-down menu.
7. Click “Save” at the bottom of the page to save the new phone call action.

Can inbound text messages be tracked as well?
Lauren, that is a very good question. Since the tool was designed for businesses to track their leads and sales through various forms of advertising, we do not as of now track text messages. Few businesses communicate via text messaging, don’t you think? But it is a very good point, it might actually be the future, so we are definitely going to look into it and consider adding it as a feature.
